Μπορεί μόλις να ανακοινώθηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες για τις Χρυσές Σφαίρες 2026, αλλά έχουμε ήδη έναν μεγάλο νικητή: η ταινία «Μία μάχη μετά την άλλη» («One Battle After Another») του Paul Thomas Anderson συγκεντρώνει τις περισσότερες από αυτές, διεκδικώντας εννέα βραβεία, όπως της Καλύτερης Κωμωδίας/Μιούζικαλ, του Καλύτερου Ηθοποιού (Leonardo DiCaprio) και της Καλύτερης Ηθοποιού (Chase Infiniti) στην κατηγορία. Στην κατηγορία της Καλύτερης Δραματικής Ταινίας συναντάμε τη «Συναισθηματική Αξία» («Sentimental Value») του Joachim Trier, που συνολικά συγκεντρώνει οκτώ υποψηφιότητες, ενώ ακολουθούν οι «Αμαρτωλοί» («Sinners») του Ryan Coogler, με επτά.
Τρεις υποψηφιότητες μετρά η «Βουγονία» του Γιώργου Λάνθιμου (Καλύτερη Κωμωδία/Μιούζικαλ, Καλύτερος Ηθοποιός, Καλύτερη Ηθοποιός).
Στις τηλεοπτικές παραγωγές, την πρωτιά κρατάει το «The White Lotus» με έξι υποψηφιότητες (ανάμεσα σε αυτές, της Καλύτερης Δραματικής Σειράς), ενώ ακολουθεί, όχι αναπάντεχα, το «Adolescence» με πέντε υποψηφιότητες.
Εντύπωση προκάλεσαν οι απουσίες του «Wicked» από την Κατηγορία της Καλύτερης Κωμωδίας/Μιούζικαλ, παρά την εισπρακτική επιτυχία του, αλλά και της Sydney Sweeney, που υποδύθηκε την μποξέρ του «Christy». Ευχάριστη έκπληξη η παρουσία του «Frankenstein» του Guillermo del Toro, σε διάφορες κατηγορίες (μεταξύ αυτών, και της Καλύτερης Δραματικής Ταινίας), που επιβεβαιώνει ότι η κλασική ιστορία δεν παλιώνει ποτέ, ιδιαίτερα όταν βρίσκεται στα χέρια ενός χαρισματικού σκηνοθέτη.
